If you dare cross this threshold, be aware that indescribable horrors with unutterable names await in the stygian darkness, furtive creatures from beyond all the known stars. Expect only madness and despair ahead… in Disney style!

What can I say, people? I’m exhausted. This has been a 40+ hours labour divided among the sleeping time of the past week and a half. And it feels good to show it to the world. We can easily say that this is what my mind looks like. It is, after all, built up from all my major obsessions in life.

1. Giant Octopuses/Pulpos gigantes
2. Victorian fashion/Moda victoriana
3. Steel greenhouses from the XVIII and XIX century/Invernaderos de acero del S.XVIII y XIX
4. Jumanji
5. German expressionism/Expresionismo alemán
6. Piranesi’s engravings/Los grabados de Piranesi
7. H.P. Lovecraft
8. The heart of Darkness/El corazón de las tinieblas

The attack of the accursed octopus of doom and madness

Enjoy & share! ¡Disfrutad y compartid!

What are these two poor souls running from? They certainly look scared. ]:)

Also, first attempt to a more “disney” kind of drawing. The girl came out a bit too Barbucci s:

Two months ago I posted in here the pencil version of this illustration, featuring a three vanishing points view of a staircase which I’m still kind of proud of. With my thesis due (hopefully) in July, I don’t have much time for my dream lately, but I try to invest as much of my free time as possible into carrying on with it. I made several tryouts, with watercolours and painting digitally, but I finally decided to borrow my roommate‘s copic markers. I must thank her for that and for the input in the final stages.

Here there is my first finished illustration in a while. Enjoy! 🙂

Browsing through the most recent sketchbooks I sense a pattern: Victorian Ladies is my don’t-know-what-to-draw topic.

As promised, I kept on working on that 3 vanishing points perspective of a Victorian staircase. And I’m basically done with the pencils, and I’m kind of satisfied.

I, btw, started this one week ago so I could paint something. One week later, the painting can finally start!

I used my break this evening to start some crazy three-vanishing-points perspective of a wooden Victorian staircase on a -oh, yes!- A3 paper sheet. To be finished through the week, during breaks. =D

I haven’t had much time for the blog lately, or for internet, or for my doodle book.
Sometimes you relax your time management and then main obligations eat up your free time.

But I’ve signed up for a fanzine project for 2012, so there will be some drawing in the horizon.
