The winner of the contest I submitted an illustration to two weeks ago has been announced. Congratulations to the winner and to the people who submitted their work. Go check their submissions.

Now I can show you my entry:

Now, moving on to different matters, just a reminder that my 6 pages story Wallflower can be found in this year’s Lis en Fleur‘s edition and it will be sold from tomorrow in the Salón del Manga in Barcelona @ Life in a Glasscase’s stand.

Have a terrific Halloween // Buena víspera de Todos los Santos 🙂

The other night santiagu caught me off guard when he sent me some file named “fanart” through dropbox and told me “Maybe that will ring a bell”. When I opened it this is what I saw:

La otra noche santiagu me pilló desprevenida enviándome vía dropbox un .jpg llamado “fanart”, “A ver si te suena” me dijo. Cuando lo abrí me encontré con esto:

His awesome version of the two characters involved in Wallflower! He says it’s not finished but I just couldn’t wait any longer. It’s a lovely personification of the girls and he managed somehow to nail it with the colours even though the comic is B/W. Go give the boy himself some love in his blog now!

About the bilingual blog rant, I’ve been resisting this for almost three years cause I dislike having posts written in two languages all the time. I think it causes a bit of confusion and the tags part is real trouble but ever since wordpress started showing visit rates per country and I realised at least 33% of my traffic comes from spanish speaking countries I have decided that having a bilingual blog is less time consuming, less confusing and a better option than anything else at least until I can figure out how to get a language change button option or think of something else. Until then, a bilingual blog shall this one be.

I think this is the most I’ve ever written in this blog.

I submitted today an illustration for this contest. Maria Llovet‘s “Porcelain” graphic novel’s printed version is coming out at the end of the month and she organised a fan art contest together with the publishing company Norma Ed.

We’ll see how that goes. While waiting for the results, I strongly encourage you all to get a glimpse of Porcelain, which she has been uploading a page a day for the past six months to her blog in spanish, english and french.

However turns the contest, I’ll upload my illustration to the blog when the winner is announced.

In April I posted the sketch for an illustration that was going to be published in a BBC Sherlock’s Fan Book as an extra feature in a short story I wrote the script for as well. The story featured Irene back in the UK in disguise and some stolen jewels, no apparent connection *rolleyes.

Well, the fan book has been, as far as I know, a great hit and now that several months have gone by I think it’s time I release the illustration for the public rejoicing. I also did the cover/backcover illustration for that story. It was an integrated part of the story and it’s resolution (you guess where were the jewels hidden… :P). Click to enlarge. ^^

Long time no see!

I have been busy trying to gradutate but I couldn’t resist when a friend asked me to doodle a few pages for her upcoming fanzine, Lis en fleur. I contributed a six pages long story called “Wallflower” and I can’t tell you more or show a lot for the time being. In a few months I will upload the pdf but for the time being a couple of previews will have to do. I will post this one now and a fuller one when the manga convention here in Barcelona is getting closer. I will also tell you about how to get yourself a copy in case you’re interested.

Planning and drawing these six pages I realised how long had it been since I had really made a whole comic page for real. Way too long. There was a point at which I thought I’d give up and not finish them, but I “manned up” and carried on to the end, feeling the improvement with every new panel. I’m satisfied I can tell you all that I put a new work in the “Finished” basket.

I also drew it entirely on my pc without previous sketches on paper. Intuos5 is ❤

I did it!

See you around and keep it cool!
